If We’ve Worked Out Custody In Family Court, Do We Have To Do It Again To Get A Divorce In Queens?

November 7, 2014 by Marc Jacob

If the custody agreement you’ve already worked out in Family Court is working well for both parents and your child, then there’s no need to negotiate another one during your divorce.

The court can simply use the existing order as your divorce child custody agreement.

Even if your custody agreement isn’t perfect, it may still be advantageous to both parties to use the existing agreement as part of the divorce, which may save you considerable amounts of money in costs for experts and others who can provide testimony or act as expert witnesses in a custody fight.

The attorneys at Zelenitz, Shapiro & D’Agostino can advise you of your options when you have a custody agreement in place. Call 718-523-1111 today for a free consultation.
