What Does It Mean To Have An Uncontested Divorce?

July 2, 2013 by Marc Jacob

In order to have an uncontested divorce, all issues of the marriage must be resolved. Both parties need to be in agreement about everything, including but not limited to child custody, visitation, equitable distribution of marital assets and entitlements (if any) to spousal support, retirement accounts and even the value of a degree or professional license if obtained during the marriage.

If both parties agree, they both must sign a Stipulation of Settlement which will be submitted to the Court in Queens along with other necessary documentation.

If you are interested in an uncontested divorce, please call (718) 523-1111 for a free consultation.
