As a real estate attorney in Saint Louis, I love helping my clients buy their first home, a new home, or to sell their home and move on to the next stage in their lives. It is such a personal thing: where you live, raise your family, move on into retirement, and I believe that provides the opportunity for a more personal connection than in other areas of real estate law.
My favorite part of being a real estate attorney in Saint Louis, by far, is the closing itself. In an age where the vast majority of our clients hire us online or via email, the closing often provides the only opportunity to meet the clients face-to-face, to protect them and explain things to them in person — at a time when they are understandably nervous and sometimes overwhelmed with their upcoming move — and to see the relieved smiles on their faces when they know the purchase or sale is finally completed.
Although I have worked in many settings: big firm, small firm, and in-house counsel, running my own law firm as a real estate attorney in Saint Louis brings a unique sense of satisfaction. The clients are my clients…I am both responsible to them and for them. I am responsible for the firm and to the staff. It is an awesome responsibility sometimes, but one I cherish. I look forward to meeting you at your next closing!
Here is some additional information about me you find helpful:
I am a Supreme Court of Missouri Rule 17-Approved Civil Mediator. That means I am trained to help people try to work out their disputes to avoid court, or to avoid trial if they have already filed a lawsuit. Working out our differences through a facilitated process can lead to happy clients, saved relationships, and when outcomes are dictated by the parties to the dispute themselves rather than by a third party imposing a decision upon them there is often a higher level of satisfaction about the outcome.
I volunteer. Whether for my municipality on redevelopment or economic development issues, for non-profits I care about, or for those who simply cannot afford the legal services we provide, I try my best to help whenever possible, or to at least get you to somebody who can. It is an important part how I see the world, and if you ask me, I‘ll probably tell you it should be important to you as well.
